We always think that either of these two foods may be the fat body of our cake, our breakfast or a meal, but what is better? Butter or margarine spread ? For us to choose correctly today analyze their differences .
The main difference between margarine and butter is its origin , because the first is a fatty body created industrially from vegetable oils while the latter is of animal origin.
Still, both are fatty substances so its calories derived primarily from fat. The butter has a higher percentage of fat (99%), among which predominate saturated , while margarine has 80% of fats that are mostly monounsaturated, and trans fats own industrial process that is to return solid the vegetable oils.

In general, the traditional margarine and butter are especially fat source , the first with less saturated fat and trans fat but the last with more vitamin A and natural carotene in its composition, as well as with more cholesterol.
Its effect on health
A few years ago we certainly would have said that margarine was the best option to care for the health of the body due to its vegetable origin, however, today it is known that trans fats are the most dangerous to our body and, on the other hand , saturated fats have no more effect on it.
Thus, there are studies that disassociate intake of saturated fats increased cardiovascular risk , and is also known that the cholesterol we eat has little to do on cholesterol in our body and also negatively affects heart health .
In addition, a recent study published in the journal Plus One concludes that the relationship between the consumption of butter and cardiovascular disease is non – existent , so, butter ceased to be the bad guy to be today perhaps better choice than margarine which, for their trans fat, could be more negative health .
They concluded, except margarines with special characteristics, they even being of vegetable origin are a less desirable option than butter, rich in saturated fats.
Of course, both are concentrated in fat and therefore should not abuse their daily consumption .
