Rotary World Peace Fellowships

Rotary World Peace is an entity that seeks by means of scholarships to train people who are dedicated to the cause of world peace and international understanding through its humanitarian service activities, as well as academic and professional achievements.

Therefore, they are addressed to all those students who hold a university degree, with excellent academic achievements, or equivalent work experience in the field of conflict resolution, and who wish to take a master’s degree or a professional development course.

The call for the granting of 100 scholarships, divided in two, every training will be open from November 2009, but the scholarships will begin in 2011.

The characteristic of the master’s program is characterized by offering students the opportunity to practice their scholarship in any of the 6 centers that exist in seven universities located in the following countries: Thailand, Japan, Australia, England, Argentina and the United States. The course lasts between 15 and 24 months and the curriculum is based on the academic program of each university.

The results of the calls are favorable to Rotary, which annually recruits up to 50 new people, who will be responsible for promoting, in their personal and professional lives, the cause of peace and conflict resolution. In addition, they will be in search of possible solutions and activities to contribute to society.

The scholarship holders can hold university master’s degrees in the following orientations: international relations, public administration, and sustainable development, achievement of peace and resolution of conflicts or disciplines. They will also have to carry out two or three months of practice related to the discipline of studies (during the summer recess, in the Southern Hemisphere, winter recess, in the Northern Hemisphere).

Instead, the course professional development certificate awarding grants scholarships to perform in a center and a university for 3 months. There are two sessions per year (January-April and June-August) and each session involves a maximum of 25 fellows.
