The environment at bedtime often becomes the object of aches and pains , the bed is too firm or too soft pillow, but the posture in sleep can also be the culprit.
What is the correct position for sleep
The misalignment during sleep can put stress and strain on the spine , neck, shoulders, hips and jaw which, in turn, affects how you feel the next day ; and can also affect your ability to relax enough to fall asleep.
There are three curves in the body to which you should pay attention, one in the lower back , another in the middle of it and the last, near the neck . The aim is to try to keep these natural curves when you sleep . There are some healthy tips that favor sleeping arrangements :
1) Floating Dead
With this dream you spend the night face down on your stomach, the head turned to one side , with the arms placed under the pillow.
The problem : In this hyper-flex neck position and exert pressure on nerves along the bottom of the arms that can cause tingling when you wake up. The body weight compresses the lungs, preventing a fully expanded and deep breathing. It also puts unnecessary pressure on the breasts.
The solution : Do not use a pillow for the head and tries to lift the side of your body slightly with a pillow, or place a pillow under your hips.
2) The Soldier
With this position, the night passed back.
The problem: Sleeping in the supine position can cause the tongue to fall into and block the breathing tube. People who sleep on their backs are prone to snoring and sleep supine is not good for people with sleep apnoea, a disorder that causes brief episodes of breathlessness.
The solution: It is not a position, but for children; you should always place infants on their backs to prevent sudden infant death. If you must sleep on your back, place a pillow under the knees and a small pillow under your lower back.
People with heart failure , certain respiratory diseases, glaucoma or gastro-esophageal reflex disease (GERD) may benefit from taking this position soldier in a semi-sitting position .
3) Sleeping Beauty
This position allows sleep sideways, slightly curved , with knees bent and folded arms.
The problem : None. The latter is the healthiest sleeping and complements the natural curvature of the spine position. Do even better: To add comfort and reduce stress on hips, you should put a pillow between your knees. Use a pillow of moderate height to support the head, such as water pillow can be easily adjusted. If there is space, extend arms forward. If you have high blood pressure , try sleeping on your left side and if you are prone to kidney stones on one side, sleeping on the other side.
