This type of spill can penetrate into the carpet piles and dry to form a hard patch which can be very difficult to remove. Blot any spillages immediately using a clean cloth. Work from the outside inwards to prevent spreading the spill and never attempt to rub the spill as this can cause further damage to the carpet piles.
Running Equipment Over Unprotected Pile
Cranes, trolleys, chairs and other movable items of furniture can crush and shear into fibres if they are left to fall onto a carpeted area. Protective castors with wide, flat bases can be used and areas frequently used by wheeled items should be protected with hardboard or ply sheets.
Skipping Professional Extraction
